Documentation
This site is the friendly front page for the LS27B800TGUXEN-libre project. The living documents, like the safety procedure, equipment list, progress and analysis notes, live in the GitHub repository. We’ll publish more of them here as the project grows.
Before you touch any hardware, read SAFETY. Bricking is preventable, but only if you follow those steps.
Where to find things
The procedure for anyone working on a monitor. Required reading.
Hardware you need to dump and analyse the firmware.
Phase-by-phase status of the project.
How to share bug reports and findings.
Analysis notes: layout, offsets, strings, chip IDs.
Where the project stands
We have the last known firmware (v1005.0) and we’ve identified the chip, an MStar MST9U01N scaler. There are no working patches yet, and we’re being careful about anything that could brick a monitor. See the progress tracker for the latest.
